Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – May 14, 2020

Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project.

Construction of a three-lane roadway with bike lanes, sidewalks, and safe crossings is currently underway between Country Club Drive to Brosterhous Road. Construction of this phase of the project is planned to be completed in August 2020.

The Murphy Corridor Improvements Project benefits include:

  • Mobility: Addition of railway overcrossing to reduce delays and significantly improve emergency medical services and fire response times for citizens
  • Connectivity: Improved traffic connectivity to adjoining streets, parks, and schools
  • Safety: Improved visibility at intersections and designated crossings, and reduced vehicle conflict points for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians

Construction Activities for the Upcoming Week

  • Continued installation of below-ground power and telecommunication facilities on the south side of Murphy Road
  • Continued relocation of Cascade Natural Gas main facilities across Murphy Road and to the north
  • Continued installation of sanitary sewer, water, and stormwater facilities
