Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – November 08, 2021
Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project.
Work on the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project is progressing with an expected opening of the BNSF Bridge overcrossing and Murphy Road extension on Thursday, November 18. Following the road opening, crews will continue to finish work through the end of the year.
Road Closure Notice
The northbound lane of Brosterhous Road is closed between Murphy Road and Knott Road through the end of December (the southbound lane is now open). The closure is for construction work on a sidewalk and sewer extension project under the railroad bridge. The project will create a shared-use path for bikers and pedestrians under the railroad bridge and connect to existing sidewalks to the north and south. The work also includes extending the sewer line within Brosterhous Road.
Construction Activities – Week of November 8
- Construction work will continue along Brosterhous Road under the railroad bridge on the sidewalk and sewer extension.
- Fire access gates will be installed along the Murphy Road extension.
- Construction crews will continue prepping sidewalks on the Murphy Road extension.
- Following the completion of the paving of Murphy Road last week, striping work is scheduled to occur. Striping work is weather-dependent.
- Crews will continue sidewalk, fencing, and rail work on the BNSF bridge overcrossing.
- Road signs will be installed along the Murphy Road extension.
- Crews will continue landscape work along the extension.
