Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – October 22, 2020
Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project. The Murphy Corridor Improvements Project addresses safety concerns, connectivity, and mobility issues in southeast Bend.
Construction of a new single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Murphy Road and Country Club Drive is currently underway. Construction of this phase of the project is planned to be completed in November 2020. Construction of the BNSF Bridge Crossing begins the week of September 28. The bridge crossing is part of the new two-lane roadway between Brosterhous Road and 15th Street, which will reduce delays between east and west Bend. The BNSF Bridge Crossing and Murphy Road Extension is expected to be completed in August 2021.
Construction Activities for the Upcoming Week
- Continued concrete prep work
- Concrete paving will begin
- Crews will continue pouring sidewalks
- Complete installation of splitter islands
- Continued construction of the BNSF Bridge Overcrossing abutment on the eastside of the BNSF Railway tracks
Road Closures & Detours
Please follow detour routes and drive with caution in detour areas.
WESTBOUND DETOUR:
Take the Murphy Road bypass road to Country Club Drive. Turn right on Knott Road. Turn right on China Hat Road. Turn right on Parrell Road.
EASTBOUND DETOUR:
Take Murphy Road to Parrell Road. Continue on Parrell Road, turn right on Brosterhous Road, and follow to stop sign. Turn right on Brosterhous Road and follow through Brosterhous Roundabout to Murphy Road.
