Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – September 10, 2020
Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project. The Murphy Corridor Improvements Project addresses safety concerns, connectivity, and mobility issues in southeast Bend.
Construction of the Murphy Road and Country Club Drive roundabout began on September 10, after a two-day delay due to the recent fires preventing the project team from bringing over necessary equipment to begin construction.
A full closure at the intersection of Murphy Road and Country Club Drive is in place now through November, weather permitting, for the construction of the Country Club Drive roundabout. Local access to residences and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times. A temporary two-way bypass road opens on Tuesday, September 8. A bypass road is open to accommodate traffic around the construction area with a connection toward the area of Jewell Elementary School and south toward the Bend Fire Station.
Construction Activities for the Upcoming Week
- Demolition and street excavation at the intersection of Murphy Road and Country Club Drive
- Prepping and pouring curbs
- Installation of stormwater facilities, conduit, and vaults
