Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – September 17, 2020

Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project. The Murphy Corridor Improvements Project addresses safety concerns, connectivity, and mobility issues in southeast Bend.

The Murphy Road and Country Club Drive intersection has recently been closed for the construction of a roundabout. As a result, traffic has significantly increased on Fairway Drive. The residents along Fairway Drive are currently being inundated with vehicles, which impacts their homes and lives. The City of Bend is asking that everyone consider their neighbors and avoid driving this shortcut when possible. Please be neighborly and use the designated and signed detour shown on the Murphy Country Club RAB Construction Detour Exhibit. To maintain safe fire and emergency response in the areas, we cannot close Fairway Drive. Using the designated detour – which we understand is a little inconvenient for some – also helps reduce the chances of impeding first responders. Travel safely, and please continue to be mindful of your surroundings and neighbors. Thank you!

Please follow detour routes and drive with caution in detour areas.

WESTBOUND DETOUR:
Take the Murphy Road bypass road to Country Club Drive. Turn right on Knott Road. Turn right on China Hat Road. Turn right on Parrell Road.

EASTBOUND DETOUR:
Take Murphy Road to Parrell Road. Continue on Parrell Road. Turn right on Brosterhous Road and follow to the stop sign. Turn right on Brosterhous Road and follow through Brosterhous Roundabout to Murphy Road.

Construction Activities for the Upcoming Week

  • Continued demolition and street excavation at the intersection of Murphy Road and Country Club Drive
  • Installation of aggregate base
  • Installation of streetlight conduits and stormwater facilities
