Neff and Purcell Improvement Project Update – November 10, 2023

SAFETY FIRST

Active construction continues in the Neff and Purcell intersection and through the Purcell extension. Stay safe. Never cross a barrier or enter a blocked road. Use posted detour routes.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES – November 6 – November 10 

North Sidewalk Infill on Neff Road (Eastwood Drive to Cliff Drive)

  • Near Eastwood Drive, sidewalk concrete work begins. Single lane closure with flagging, please expect delays.
  • Near Leehaven Lane, sidewalk concrete work continues. Single lane closure with flagging, please expect delays.

Neff and Purcell Intersection

  • Sidewalk concrete work continues
  • Sidewalk infill work begins on the north side of Neff Road between Leehaven Lane and Eastwood Drive
  • Signal pole and mast installation is complete
    • Electrical and signal control wiring continues
  • Roadway pre-striping grinding begins (weather dependent) 
  • Installation of irrigation and landscaping continues

Purcell Extension 

  • Roadway pre-striping grinding (weather dependent)
  • Sidewalk concrete work continues.

ROAD CLOSURES AND DETOURS 

Neff Road and Purcell Boulevard intersection closure from February through late fall 2023, weather permitting.
(Dates are estimates and subject to change.)

Neff and Purcell Intersection Detour Routes

  • Eastbound (south option) – go south on Eighth Street, east on Greenwood Avenue, north on 27th Street  
  • Eastbound (north option) – go north on Eighth Street, east on Butler Market Road and south on 27th Street 
  • Westbound (south option) – go south on 27th Street, west on Greenwood Avenue, north on Eighth Street  
  • Westbound (north option) – go north on 27th Street, west on Butler Market Road and south on Eighth Street 

Temporary Pedestrian Access Routes

Please use marked temporary pedestrian detours. Please be aware these temporary pedestrian access routes will change as needed during different phases of work.
