SAFETY FIRST
Flaggers stationed on Newport Ave and Juniper St will temporarily stop traffic, allowing equipment and trucks to enter and exit the construction zone. Newport Ave is closed to through traffic with local access only for business access and residents. Use designated detours shown in the detour map below if you are traveling to northwest Bend.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION KIOSK
This week the City’s informational kiosk will be at Newport Avenue Market on Tuesday, September 14. Stop by from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM and meet with our team to answer any questions regarding this project.

Nashville/Newport Corridor Improvements Scheduled Construction – Segment 1
Week of September 9 – September 16
- Irrigation installation and landscaping continues.
- Freshly poured roundabout apron curing begins.
- Final stormwater planter walls are formed and poured
- Cascade Natural Gas Company mainline relocation is completed.

Week of September 2 – September 9
- Demolition and widening of Newport continues
DETOURS IN EFFECT
Traffic Closures and Changes
- Nashville Ave. from Newport Ave. to Federal St. is closed.
- Newport Ave. from NW 7th St. to NW 10th St. is closed.
- The intersection at NW Juniper St. and Newport Ave. will be closed.
- The intersection at NW Knoxville Blvd. and Newport Ave. will be closed.
- One-way local access only on Newport Ave from NW Juniper St. to College Wy.

All businesses along Newport Ave. will be open through construction. Business access signs will be placed on the following routes:
- NW Portland Ave.
- NW 14th St.
- NW Newport Ave.
GENERAL PROJECT NOTES
- Access to all area businesses along the construction corridor will be maintained. New ‘business open’ signage continues to be installed.
- Businesses between NW 9th St. and NW 11th St. can be accessed using the rear alley and rear parking areas.
- Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
- Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
- The ‘Tree Preservation and Removal Overview Exhibits’ can be found on the project website. These exhibits provide design details about each tree being removed and where new trees will be planted.
- There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.

- EMS, buses, and other delivery/service providers have been included in the project updates distribution list.
- Please help us in spreading the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures.
- Share the project website (provided below), where others can also sign up for updates using the ‘PROJECT UPDATES’ button.
