Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – September 23, 2022
SAFETY FIRST
During the week of September 26, the City will be performing excavation work along Roanoke and Ogden Avenues just west of 9th Street for the Awbrey Butte Water Line Improvement Project. Work will be conducted in the parking lanes to minimize impacts to traffic. Please observe posted ‘No Parking’ signage. Localized flagging and lane shifts will be in place in these areas as needed.
The dogbone roundabout on Newport Avenue between 11th and 12th Street was designed to eliminate any left-hand turns into and out of Newport Avenue. As a reminder, to access a business on the south side of Newport Avenue, vehicles and bikes need to be traveling eastbound and utilize the ‘RIGHT TURN ONLY’ entrance to the parking lot. Please review the below map on how to safely and effectively utilize the dogbone.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
For the safety of all road users, a temporary ‘No Parking’ area has been established along the south side of Milwaukee Avenue between 12th Street and 14th Street. Please observe posted signage.
