Remaining Project Schedule Highlights
August
- Week of August 27th: The Northbound lane of 14th Street is closed on the NW Albany Ave. to Galveston Ave. segment of Phase 2. Northbound traffic has been detoured at the Simpson Roundabout to Mt. Washington with local access remaining open between Simpson and Albany.
- Landscaping along the corridor from Newport Ave. to Galveston Ave. will continue over the next few weeks.
September
- Week of September 3rd: The day after Labor Day will begin full closure of 14th St. between Albany Ave. and Galveston Ave. 14th Street traffic will be detoured at the Simpson Roundabout and Galveston Roundabout to Mt. Washington with local access remaining open between Simpson and Albany.
- The Simpson Ave. Roundabout will undergo final striping in early September. The work will take place at night and under flagger conditions so as to minimize traffic impacts.
- Week of September 3rd: School begins this week which will produce more vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic. Please be safe out there.
- September may also include a couple of Saturday workdays to expediate both improvements and schedule.
- Cascade Natural Gas and other utilities will complete several system upgrades during the full closure. Upgrades will extend from the north side of the Galveston Roundabout to Commerce Ave. The work will be executed concurrent to the full closure and city project to reduce the overall impact to the surrounding community and travelling public.
October
- By month’s end – 14th Street Reconstruction Project is completed
- Tree plantings for entire project between Simpson Ave. to NW Newport Ave. are scheduled to be completed during the month of October.
