Proposed $2.5 Million in State Funding Could Help Create Navigation Centers
The City is tracking homelessness in the 2021 housing legislation, House Bill 2004 (HB 2004). The bill includes state funding to create navigation centers, which are low-barrier emergency shelters that connect people experiencing homelessness to direct social services. If passed and funding is secured, the City may receive an estimated $2.5 million, which would be used to purchase land or property and/or contract with a non-profit to operate the center. We’ll keep tracking the progress of HB 2004.
