Sewer Master Plan Stakeholder Group applicants needed
The Bend Chamber of Commerce, the Environmental Center and the City of Bend are teaming to select members of a new Stakeholder Group to guide the City’s sewer master planning efforts.
The City will embark on an update of the Collection System Master Plan (CSMP) which is a master plan of the City’s sewer system. The CSMP will govern development within and beyond the city limits for decades. The Stakeholder Group will be charged with the following types of tasks:
• Identify community priorities
• Review and evaluate short and long term collection system needs
• Establish rate tolerance to tailor short and long term goals
• Consider financial, engineering, economic development, growth management and political implications of various alternatives
• Provide a recommendation regarding a preferred approach to the CSMP
We need volunteers who understand the interaction between infrastructure and economic development, who recognize the need to make tough decisions, who are extremely good communicators, who can argue, yet reason, and who value an opportunity to shape this city’s future.
The group will need to consist of members with expertise in the following areas: engineering, finance, the environment, land development, law, economic development, community development, land use or other relevant experience.
This will be a substantial commitment and involve monthly (perhaps bi-monthly) meetings for at least one year. If you are interested in this position, please complete the Advisory Committee Application found at www.bendoregon.gov/committees.
Submit completed applications to the City of Bend Administration Office, 710 NW Wall Street, Bend OR 97701. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012. Applicants must be residents of the City of Bend.
