Upgrades begin to former Juniper Utility System
City Councilors Jodie Barram and Sally Russell joined HOA board members and residents to break ground on upgrades to the former Juniper Utility system. This project will provide increased system reliability, available flow and fire protection to the area.
The existing water system in the former Juniper Utility area is in poor condition and requires significant effort to maintain. The City of Bend Engineering and Infrastructure Planning Department will manage upgrades to select domestic water infrastructure in the Mountain High and Timber Ridge subdivisions which were served by the former Juniper Utility. The upgrades are required to meet the terms and conditions of the 2004 Juniper Utility Settlement Agreement and subsequent 2011 Amendment between the City of Bend and the respective Home Owners Associations, which includes Mountain High, Timber Ridge, Tillicum Village and Nottingham Square. The Agreement requires that all water usage, including irrigation, be
provided by the City at standard City rates by the beginning of the 2015 irrigation season.
Construction is expected to be completed in August.
