Weekly Construction Update Week of September 23rd

Construction activities for the upcoming week include:

  • Shoulder work will begin on the pedestrian path between Chloe Lane and Ferguson Road.
  • Crews will finish up Stage 1 of concrete paving and construction of curbs and sidewalk on the 15th Street and Murphy Road roundabout.
  • Work will continue on the water quality pond. The pond will capture stormwater runoff from streets and sidewalks, while mitigating flooding and improving water quality.
  • Wooden poles are being installed to provide temporary lighting along 15th Street until the permanent power source is extended across the future Murphy Road bridge and extension.

REMINDER: UPCOMING TRAFFIC CHANGE

Beginning Tuesday, October 1st, drivers should prepare for traffic modifications on 15th Street. Drivers can expect a stop sign when entering the roundabout and that northbound traffic will merge into the southbound lane. In addition, a full road closure at Golden Gate Place will be in place through late October. 15th Street will continue to be closed to southbound traffic at Ferguson Road with local access to Chloe Lane.

Work Zone Safety
Please be aware of the construction work zone and allow extra time to get where you’re going.  Any time you’re in or approaching a work zone, please remember to:

  • Slow Down – drive the posted speeds, they’re there for your safety
  • Be Kind   – our workers are out there helping to keep you safe and improve the roadways
  • Pay Attention – both to workers directing you and surrounding traffic; put down your phone when behind the wheel
  • Stay Calm – expect delays, leave early or take an alternate route if possible; no meeting or appointment is worth risking someone’s life

Please contact the project team with concerns, comments, and questions at 541- 322-9919.
