Weekly Road and Traffic Report for the Week of April 29 – May 5
For the Week of April 29 – May 5:
- NW Arizona Avenue between NW Lava Road and NW Sisemore Street for a communications line installation, single lane closure with lane shift, May 1 – 3.
- NW Greenwood Avenue between NW Hill Street and NE First Street for a sewer service repair, nighttime single lane closure with lane shift, April 30 – May 3, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
- NE 18th Street between NE Talus Place and NE Cooley Road for saw cutting and potholing activities, single lane closure with flagging, April 22 – 23.
- Intersection of Third Street and Brosterhous Road for signal upgrades, nighttime 4-way flagging, May 1 – 2.
- Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 1 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
- College Way and Saginaw Avenue: Closed April 27 through May 13. College Way detour to utilize Regency Street, Mount Washington Drive, and Shevlin Park Road. Local Saginaw traffic to detour using Quincy Avenue, NW 11th Street, and Portland Avenue.
- NW Mount Washington Drive and Regency Street: Intersection to be flagged to ensure traffic from COCC does not back up onto Regency Street.
- Saginaw Avenue: Local access only from College Way to West Hills Avenue.
- Regency Street and Mount Washington Drive Intersection: Intersection will be intermittently controlled by flaggers.
Ongoing Closures:
- Knott Road between SE 15th Street and Raintree Court for a watermain relocation, single lane closure with flagging, begins April 8.
- Parrell Road between Badger Road and Rae Road for a sewer main installation, full road closure with detour, April 8 – May 17.
- Brosterhous Road between Kobe Street and Frankie Lane will have a sewer main installation, full road closure with detour, begins April 29.
- Eagle Road between Butler Market Road and NE Flagstone Avenue for roadway improvements, full day road closure with detour, April 8 – 29.
- Brosterhous Road between Button Brush and songbird lane for frontage improvements, single lane closures with flagging and possible lane shifts, begins April 3.
- West Campbell Road between Swarens Avenue and Kemple Drive for a sewer main installation, full road closure with local access only, April 1 – May 3.
- Pinehaven/Woodhaven Sewer Project (NSSP) – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals in order to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Full road closures with local access along the full length Pinehaven and Woodhaven Avenues. Project began March 11. For more information, visit the Pinehaven and Woodhaven Sewer Project webpage.
- SW 18th Street between SW Simpson Avenue and SW Forest Ridge Avenue for infrastructure improvements, full road closure with detour, began March 25.
- Jamison Street between Empire Avenue and Poe Scholes Drive for a gas main relocation, full road closure with detour, began March 25.
- Bend North Corridor, ODOT Project – Infrastructure improvements along Highway 97 from Empire Avenue to Grandview Drive. Highway 97 will also be realigned to allow free flowing movement. Various types of traffic control will be implemented during construction. Expect additional delays throughout this segment of the corridor. Expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
- Empire onramp northbound will be redirected toward the newly built Highway 97 and connected to the existing Highway 97 at Robal Road, began April 8.
- Highway 97 will be closed for 15 minutes for blasting activities between 7 AM – 8 AM on May 4.
- Cooley Road between Highway 20 and Hunnel Road for infrastructure and roadway improvements, full road closure with detour, began December 26.
- Wilson Corridor Improvements Project – Street improvements on Wilson from Second Street to 15th Street. For more information visit the Wilson Project website. This is a multiphase project with various intersections and road closures throughout its entirety.
- Wilson Avenue between SE Second Street and SE Third Street has a westbound closure with detour.
- Wilson Avenue between SE Third Street and SE Fourth Street has a full road closure with detour.
- Beginning February 8, there will be no left turn lanes in any direction at this intersection.
- Third Street traffic will be shifted to one lane between SE Railroad Street SE Taft Avenue. Please note, blue cones are directing business access.
Future Road Closures:
- 2024 Happy Girls Run – This special event includes a 5K, 10K, and half marathon. The event will primarily use City sidewalks and Bend Park and Recreation District trails, crossing a few higher-classification streets with the use of certified flaggers (streets listed below). Event to take place May 11.
- NW Galveston Avenue between NW Harmon Boulevard and NW Riverfront Street.
- Newport Avenue between NW Wall Street and NW Drake Road.
- Mount Washington Drive between NW Scenic Heights Drive and NW Links Lane
Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.
Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
