Weekly Road and Traffic Report for the Week of June 16 – 23

For the Week of June 16 – 23:

  • 2024 Pacific Crest Endurance Sports Festival – This special event includes a Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquathon, and team relays. The event will close SW Century Drive, SW Colorado Avenue, and SW Columbia Street (sections listed below). Special Event closure to take place June 16, 2024, from 6 a.m. – 11 a.m.
    • SW Century Drive between Skyline Ranch Road and SW Donovan Avenue
    • SW Colorado Avenue between SW Century Drive and SW Emkay Drive
    • SW Columbia Street between SW Emkay Drive and SW Shevlin Hixon Drive
  • NE 18th Street between Sockeye place and NE Montana Way will have a franchise utility installation, single lane closure with lane shifts, June 17 – 21.
  • NE Yeoman Road between NE Purcell Boulevard and Deschutes Market Road for tree trimming, moving single lane closure with flagging.
  • Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 2 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
    • Saginaw Avenue: One-Way (Eastbound) Local access only from College Way to West Hills Avenue. Westbound traffic to access College Way via Portland Avenue.
    • Mount Washington Drive and Shevlin Park Road roundabout: Partial Closure through June for roundabout reparation.
      • Phase 3 Closure beginning June 3 (anticipated to last through June).
      • Westbound Shevlin Park Road closed east of roundabout.
    • College Way and Saginaw Avenue: Intersection will be intermittently controlled by flaggers through June 21.

Ongoing Closures:

  • Parrell Road between Badger Road and Silver Sage Street will continue infrastructure improvements, lane closure with lane shifts, begins June 3.
    • Rae Road closed between Parrell Road and Travis Road for safety concerns.
  • NW Crossing Farmers Market – special event occurring every Saturday June 1 – Oct. 12. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).
    • NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
    • NW John Freemont between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
    • NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.
  • Brosterhous Road between Sun Meadow Way and Snapdragon Lane will have infrastructure improvements, full road closure with detour, June 3 – 21.
  • Silver Sage Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Tentatively starting on May 6, 2024: Silver Sage Street, Benham Road between Murphy Road and Rae Road, Concho Street, Loy Lane and the North-end of Tapadera Street will be closed with tentative plans for reopening in mid-Oct. 2024.   • Pinehaven/Woodhaven Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals in order to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Full road closures with local access along the full length Pinehaven and Woodhaven Avenues. Project begins March 11. For more information, visit the Pinehaven and Woodhaven Sewer Project webpage.
  • SW 18th Street between SW Simpson Avenue and SW Forest Ridge Avenue for infrastructure improvements, full road closure with detour, begins March 25.
  • Bend North Corridor, ODOT Project – Infrastructure improvements along Highway 97 from Empire Avenue to Grandview Drive. Highway 97 will also be realigned to allow free flowing movement. Various types of traffic control will be implemented during construction. Expect additional delays throughout this segment of the corridor. Expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
    • Empire Avenue onramp northbound will be redirected toward the newly built Highway 97 and connected to the existing Highway 97 at Robal Road, begins April 8.
  • Cooley Road between Highway 20 and Hunnel Road for infrastructure and roadway improvements, full road closure with detour, began Dec. 26.
    • Flagging to occur within the detour at the intersection of Hunnel Road and Cooley Road due to continued work on the sewer main, June 22 – June 25.

Future Road Closures:

  • 2024 Criterion Race Series – This special event is a four-week race event occurring every Wednesday from July 3 – July 24, 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The event will close a few NW City streets (listed below). A detour will be in place for the event.
    • NW Crosby Drive between NW Elwood Lane and NW Crossing Drive.
    • NW Crossing Drive between NW Crosby Drive and NW Lolo Drive.
    • NW Elwood Lane between NW Crosby Drive and NW Lolo Drive.
    • NW Lolo Drive between NW Elwood Lane and NW Crossing Drive.

Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.
