Weekly Road and Traffic Report for the Week of March 25 – 31

For the Week of March 25 – 31:

  • Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 1 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
    • Reminder: The traffic detour on Shevlin Park Road will flip next week. Westbound traffic will be able to use Shevlin Park Road, but eastbound traffic will need to detour through Northwest Crossing. 
      • Shevlin Park Road (NW Crossing Drive to Mount Washington Drive): Eastbound Lane closure on Shevlin park Road between Northwest Crossing and Mount Washington Drive. Detour for eastbound traffic will be Mount Washington, Skyliners Road, Lemhi Pass Drive, and Northwest Crossing Drive.
    • NW Ninth Street (Roanoke Avenue to Trenton Avenue): Intermittent full road closures of Ninth Street between Trenton Avenue and Roanoke Avenue with a detour on NW 10th Street and Roanoke Avenue for trench patching on NW Ninth Street.
    • Intersection of Portland Avenue and NW Ninth Street: This intersection will be under flagging for two days while the 24-inch water main within Ninth Street is being tied into the distribution system.
    • Intersection of NW Ninth Street and Quincy Avenue: Intermittent access closures to Quincy from NW 9th Street for concrete work and tie-in for 24-inch water main within 9th Street.
    • Shevlin Park Road and Mount Washinton Drive Roundabout:
      • During the night (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; 3/17 – 3/24): Southeast quadrant of Roundabout will be closed to traffic (Northbound approach and eastbound exit). A detour will be on Mt Washington Drive (Southbound), Skyliners Road (westbound), Lemhi Pass (Northbound), NW Crossing Dr (Northbound), and Shevlin Park Road (westbound).
  • SW 18th Street between SW Simpson Avenue and SW Forest Ridge Avenue for infrastructure improvements, full road closure with detour, begins March 25.
  • Jamison Street between Empire Avenue and Poe Scholes Drive for a gas main relocation, full road closure with detour, begins March 25.
  • Butler Market Road between Eagle Road and Clyde Lane for a water main installation, single lane closure with flagging (expect delays), March 25 – April 5.
  • NW Hill Street between NW Greenwood Avenue and NW Kearney Avenue for a sewer service installation, full road closure with detour, March 21 – April 3.

  • SW Simpson Avenue between SW Mt Washington Drive and SW 15th Street for a sewer manhole installation, single lane closure with flagging, March 25 – 27.

  • Pinehaven and Woodhaven Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals in order to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Full road closures with local access along the full length Pinehaven and Woodhaven Avenues. Project begins March 11. For more information, visit the Pinehaven and Woodhaven Sewer Project webpage.


Ongoing Closures:

  • Bend North Corridor, ODOT Project – Infrastructure improvements along Highway 97 from Empire Avenue to Grandview Drive. Highway 97 will also be realigned to allow free flowing movement. Various types of traffic control will be implemented during construction. Expect additional delays throughout this segment of the corridor. Expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
    • Cooley Road between Highway 97 and Hunters Circle will be closed for construction of the overhead crossing of the new highway alignment, expected duration of two weeks with expected start of March 14th, additional delays may occur along highway 97 during this time.
    • US 97 will be closed for 15 minutes for blasting activities between 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. on Sundays (except Easter), March 24 – April 28
  • NW Shevlin Park Road between NW Crossing Drive and NW College Way for a gas main installation, single lane closure with lane shifts, began Dec. 26.
  • Cooley Road between Highway 20 and Hunnel Road for infrastructure and roadway improvements, full road closure with detour, began Dec. 26.
  • Wilson Corridor Improvements Project – Street improvements on Wilson Avenue from Second Street to 15th Street. For more information visit the Wilson Project website. This is a multiphase project with various intersections and road closures throughout its entirety.
    • Wilson Avenue between SE Second Street and SE Third Street has a westbound closure with detour.
    • Wilson Avenue between SE Third Street and SE Fourth Street has a full road closure with detour.
    • Beginning February 8, there will be no left turn lanes in any direction at this intersection.
    • Third Street traffic will be shifted to one lane between SE Railroad Street SE Taft Avenue. Please note, blue cones are directing business access.


Future Road Closures:

  • Parrell Road between Badger Road and Rae Road for a sewer main installation, full road closure with detour, April 8 – May 17
  • West Campbell Road between Swarens Avenue and Kemple Drive for a sewer main installation, full road closure with local access only, April 1 – May 3


Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
