Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – April 26, 2022

SAFETY FIRST

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Pull over when fatigue hits. Fatigue is a serious driver distraction. In the worst-case, fatigue may cause you to fall asleep in the driver’s seat. If you start to feel tired, pull over to rest safely. Remember, rest stops are not only for truckers.

OPEN HOUSE: 15^th STREET & WILSON AVENUE ROUNDABOUT

When: Wednesday, April 27, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Where: Larkspur Community Center, 1600 SE Reed Market Rd, Bend

You are invited to an open house on April 27 to learn about the upcoming construction of the 15^th Street and Wilson Avenue Roundabout. Roundabout construction is anticipated to begin in early summer 2022. The project team will also share preliminary design plans for Wilson Avenue improvements between 9^th Street and 15^th Street.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR APRIL 25 – APRIL 29

Wilson Avenue Corridor Project – 9^th Street and Wilson Avenue Roundabout

• Street excavation and fill work continues on Wilson Avenue and 9^th Street.
• Crews will continue laying down base rock.
• Preparations for pouring curbs and sidewalks continues. 
• Existing utilities that are in conflict will continue to be moved.

DETOURS IN EFFECT

The 9^th Street/Wilson Avenue Intersection Remains Closed. The following detour remains in effect.

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

• Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
• Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
• Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS

• EMS, buses, and many other delivery/service providers have been included on this distribution list.
• Please help us in spreading the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures.
• Share the project website information (provided below), where others can also sign up for updates.
• Please contact the project team if you are not the correct contact for your organization or if others need to be included.
