Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – December 1, 2023

SAFETY FIRST

Traffic Change on Wilson Avenue:

  • Third Street traffic has shifted to one lane between SE Woodland Blvd to SE Taft Avenue. Please note, blue cones are directing business access. This traffic change is expected through Dec. 22.
  • Westbound traffic on Wilson Avenue is closed through March between Third Street and Ninth Street.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Week of December 4 – December 8

STAGE 2 Improvements: Second Street to Fourth Street 

  • Crews will be testing and tying in the new waterline on Wilson Avenue on SE Second Street.
  • Foundations for new traffic light signals will be installed.
  • Crews will be cleaning up construction area along the north side of Wilson Avenue

Stage 2 Improvements Include:

  • Safer connections for pedestrians and bicyclists at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Second Street.
  • Upgraded signal and protected intersection design for bikes at the intersection of Third Street and Wilson Avenue.
  • Infrastructure improvements, including the replacement of aging waterlines and installation of stormwater infrastructure.

Westbound Wilson Avenue is closed to all traffic between Ninth Street and Hill Street.

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES 

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
  • There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
