Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – June 09, 2023

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Week of June 12 – June 16

Modernization work on Wilson Avenue from 4th Street through Centennial Street is scheduled through the fall. Please be prepared for flaggers and a westbound detour between 4th and 9th Street. 

STAGE ONE: 4th Street through Centennial Street

  • Crews will be digging laterals for new meters and testing a portion of the waterline tie-in. 
  • Work will continue on the installation of the new waterline along Edgewater Lane. Please avoid parking on the east side of Edgewater Lane. 
  • Traffic will be rerouted to the south side of Wilson Avenue to prepare for removal of the existing waterline. 

WILSON AVENUE WESTBOUND DETOUR – beginning the week of May 15 

Take 9th Street south to Reed Market Road. Turn right on Reed Market Road. Turn right on 3rd Street and continue to Wilson Avenue.

Stage 1: May 15, 2023 – Fall 2023 

Modernization of 4th Street through Centennial Street improvements include: 

  • Crossing at 5th Street with refuge island to help protect pedestrians 
  • Dura-curbs used for on-street bike lane protection 
  • Curb extensions to improve the visibility of pedestrians along Wilson Avenue 
  • Crosswalk lighting will be added at the 2nd Street and 5th Street pedestrian crossings

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained. 
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours. 
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
