Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – May 26, 2023

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Week of May 29 – June 2

No construction work is scheduled for Monday, May 29.

The new extension of Wilson Avenue east of 15^th Street to SE Wildcat Drive will open this week.

Modernization work began on May 15 on Wilson Avenue from 4^th Street through Centennial Street. Please be prepared for flaggers and a westbound detour between 4^th and 9^th Street.

STAGE ONE: 4^th Street through Centennial Street  

• Crews will continue installation of the new waterline between 4^th Street and 5^th Street.

WILSON AVENUE WESTBOUND DETOUR – beginning the week of May 15 

Take 9^th Street south to Reed Market Road. Turn right on Reed Market Road. Turn right on 3^rd Street and continue to Wilson Avenue.

Stage 1: May 15, 2023 – Fall 2023

Modernization of 4^th Street through Centennial Street. Improvements include:

• Crossing at 5^th Street with refuge island to help protect pedestrians
• Dura-curbs used for on-street bike lane protection
• Curb extensions to improve the visibility of pedestrians along Wilson Avenue
• Crosswalk lighting will be added at the 2^nd Street and 5^th Street pedestrian crossings 

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

• Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained. 
• Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours. 
• Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
• There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
