Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – September 23, 2022

SAFETY FIRST 

Please stay aware of your surroundings as construction equipment is continuously moving. Motorists should follow the designated detour signs, avoiding use of private driveways and parking lots in attempts to bypass the construction. 

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – Modernization of 9th Street to 15th Street

September 26 through September 30

  • Crews will continue prepping for paving, scheduled for October 6 and 7. 
  • Street excavation and curb work are ongoing. 
  • Installation work will begin on the irrigation system. 

Upcoming Traffic Impacts (October 6 and 7)

Access on Wilson Avenue will be impacted on October 6 and 7 for limited durations beginning at 7:00 AM (typically less than 20 minutes) to accommodate paving. Please be prepared for flaggers coordinating traffic control and up to 20-minute delays. EMS, garbage, mail, and other services will be maintained. 

Westbound traffic will be maintained on Wilson Avenue through October.  

Drivers will have full access, and no significant impacts are anticipated to 15th Street until early March 2023. Construction of the entire project corridor is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2023.

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.

  • Please help us in spreading the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures. 
  • EMS, buses, and many other delivery/service providers have been included on this distribution list.
