Frequently Asked Questions
Bend Park and Recreation District and City of Bend identified issues with extended parking along Riverside Boulevard and sought solutions that could facilitate better access to Drake Park while also encouraging parking turnover more frequently. Four hours is sufficient for a picnic, walk along Mirror Pond, playing lawn games or other activities that park users enjoy.
This is a pilot program, not an extension of the Downtown Parking District boundary. It is separate and distinct project to explore ways to improve access to Drake Park and increase parking turnover.
Signage will be placed along Riverside Boulevard to notify drivers and park users about the pilot program and four-hour parking limit.
Vehicles cited for exceeding the four-hour limit will receive a $50 parking ticket as part of the 24-hour enforcement activity. Diamond Parking, the City’s parking enforcement contractor, will enforce the restriction along with Bend Police Department.
Anyone who receives a ticket for parking on Riverside Boulevard should follow the instructions on the ticket. Some processes may differ based on which organization is writing the citation (i.e. Diamond Parking or Bend Police Department).
The instructions to appeal (or contest) your parking ticket will be on the ticket itself.
