Admiral & King Jehu Sewer Project Update – March 17, 2022

TENTATIVE CONSTRUCTION (KING HEZEKIAH WAY)

  • The construction crews are available to begin work a little earlier than anticipated. Notices of upcoming construction were hand-delivered on 3/16/2022 to each property directly adjacent to the construction limits in the King Hezekiah section. Construction notices for subsequent sections of the project limits will be delivered as the schedule progresses forward.
  • Pothole activities will occur in late March/early April.
  • Erosion control devices (straw wattle, construction fencing, etc.) and traffic control setup (signs, barricades, etc.) will occur in late March/early April.
  • Locate markings are painted on the ground, indicating where underground utilities are located.
  • Minor tree trimming and clearing activities may occur.

SEWER LATERAL LOCATIONS

Sewer laterals (also known as stub-outs) are marked at your property with a wooden stake and a green lath. Several of you reached out to me to change the location of your sewer lateral. Please note, we have not updated the stakes yet. We will update the stakes towards the start of construction. I will follow up with you once the stakes are updated. Please do not move any project stakes. All lateral relocation requests are highly encouraged to be submitted by March 31, 2022. Please use my contact information below to submit questions, comments, or concerns.

PROJECT PHOTO

Below is an example of pothole activities using a vacuum truck. Water is used to dig and break through the ground, and the vacuum sucks up the soil into a debris tank. Potholing is typically used to investigate utilities belowground in a sensitive, non-intrusive manner.

TRAFFIC CONTROL

Traffic control will be installed in late March/early April. The closure area (on the map below in red) and detour (blue dashed line) is shown below. Local access will be provided on King Hezekiah Way and King Solomon Court for homeowners living on those streets. Please proceed with caution when driving in the construction zone.

Road Closed to Thru Traffic / Local Access Only

Local traffic (meaning homeowners who live adjacent to the construction zone) can drive past this sign to access their driveways/homes. Please use extreme caution when driving in the construction zone.
