Columbia Roundabout Improvements Project Update – July 22, 2021

SAFETY FIRST

Upcoming City of Bend road maintenance projects will be closing portions of Simpson Ave near the Colorado & Simpson Ave roundabout. Additional roadwork means less mobility through the construction site. Emergency Vehicles and construction equipment will have designated routes for the upcoming work; any additional vehicle traffic could block those routes. Please follow all designated detour routes around the construction areas.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Work is planned for Saturday, July 24, during standard work hours.

Simpson Avenue/Columbia Street Scheduled Construction

Week of July 21–July 28

  • Concrete is poured into ramp and crosswalk forms.
  • Landscaping of the planters will begin over the next week.

DETOURS IN EFFECT

Current Road Closures 

  • Simpson Ave and Columbia Intersection

  • Business Access in the area remains open.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • There are multiple construction projects in the area and throughout the city and region. Please travel safely.
