Empire Corridor Improvements Project Weekly Update – July 30, 2020

The Empire Avenue Extension is Planned to Partially Open August 11th

  • The new roundabout at 27th Street & Butler Market Road will be partially open to northbound and southbound traffic only.
  • The opening of the eastern Butler Market approach will coincide with the Butler Market Road/Deschutes Market Road roundabout completion in late August. 
  • The full opening of the new roundabout will occur in late September or early October.

  • Please stay out of work zones and away from construction equipment. Excavated areas are considered unsafe for yourself, children, and pets.
  • Walk and bicycle in designated areas only. Sidewalks and paths along the Empire Extension remain closed. Please remain on Bend Parks and Recreation’s paths and the paths along the NUID canal. All other areas are off-limits for the time being.
  • Access to the construction area is limited to construction workers.
  • Do not remove barriers, warning signs/warning tape, or fencing. 
  • Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.
