Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – June 4, 2022

SAFETY FIRST

Roundabout Safety Tips: 

  • Slow down as you approach the roundabout and be prepared to yield to pedestrians and vehicles already in the traffic circle. 
  • Use your turn signals to tell other drivers where you are going.  
  • Stop only if there is no opening for you to safely enter the circle. 
  • In the case of a multi-lane roundabout, follow posted signs to make sure you’re in the correct lane for where you want to go. 

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR JUNE 6 – JUNE 11

Wilson Avenue Corridor Project – 9th Street & Wilson Avenue Roundabout

  • Crews will concrete pave the new roundabout. 
  • Landscape and irrigation work will begin, including placing rock and boulders.
  • Sidewalk prep work will continue. 
  • Crews will be working Saturday, June 11.

DETOURS IN EFFECT

The 9th Street/Wilson Avenue Intersection Remains Closed.

The construction of the 9th Street and Wilson Avenue Roundabout is anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2022. 

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS

  • EMS, buses, and many other delivery/service providers have been included on this distribution list.
  • Please help us spread the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures.
  • Share the project website information (provided below), where others can also sign up for updates.
