The BMPO Policy Board includes Bend City Council, Deschutes County Board of Commissioners, and Oregon Department of Transportation.
At BMPO Policy Board meetings, current transportation issues are discussed, and status reports are provided for current transportation studies and projects. Policy actions may include adoption or revision of the Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) and Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), direction on development of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), and adoption of resolutions related to current transportation issues.

Policy Board Members
The BMPO is managed by a five-member Policy Board comprised of representatives from Bend City Council, the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners, and ODOT Region 4. All members have been appointed by their respective agencies. The agreement establishing the MPO regulates the business procedures of the Policy Board, and all decisions are made in public meeting settings.
