Drake Pump Station Weekly Update – October 22, 2020

ASPHALT PAVING NEXT WEEK

Paving is Scheduled to Take Place Thursday, October 29th, and Possibly Friday, October 30th. The entire NW Riverside and NW Congress intersection will be repaved. To facilitate paving operations and reduce construction duration, during paving hours:

  • NW Riverside will be closed to thru-traffic from NW McKay Avenue to NW McCann Avenue. 
  • NW Congress will be closed to thru-traffic from NW McKay Avenue to NW St. Helens Place.
  • Detour routes and traffic control devices will be implemented for road closures.

Alleyways connecting to NW Riverside from the west will also be closed intermittently for paving Thursday, October 29th, and possibly Friday, October 30th. Alleys include:

  • Between NW Hixon and NE Mueller
  • Between NW Mueller and NW McCann
  • Between NW McKay and NW Gilchrist

SATURDAY WORK

In preparation for the paving work at the end of next week, K&E Excavating will be working on Saturday, October 24th, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (hours are approximate).

Monday, October 26th through Wednesday, October 28th: 

  • During work hours:
    • NW Riverside will be intermittently closed to thru-traffic from NW McKay Avenue to NW McCann Avenue.
    • NW Congress will be intermittently closed to thru-traffic from NW McKay Avenue to NW St. Helens Place.
    • Detour routes and traffic control devices will be implemented for both road closures.
  • Functional testing to commission the new pump station will commence on Thursday, October 29th.
  • Active Culture is open during construction.
  • Normal work hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m Monday -Friday.
  • Drake pump station upgrade is scheduled to be completed in November 2020.
  • Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.

  • Please stay out of work zones and away from construction equipment. Excavated areas are considered unsafe for yourself, children, and pets.
  • Walk and bicycle in designated areas only. 
  • Access to the construction area is limited to construction workers.
  • Do not remove barriers or warning signs/warning tape or fencing.
