Empire Corridor Improvements Project Update – February 25, 2021

Construction Activity Continues on NE Purcell Boulevard

The Empire Corridor Improvements project is entering its final stage, with construction scheduled to continue through September 2021. This construction will include:

  • Utility locations on NE Purcell Boulevard. Expect intermittent lane closures and delays (February – April 30th). Expect single-lane closures during this time and use alternate routes when possible to avoid delays.
  • New roundabout at the NE Purcell Boulevard & NE Butler Market Road intersection (May 3rd – September).
    • There will be a full closure of the intersection during this time.
  • Modernization of NE Purcell Boulevard between NE Butler Market Road and the NUID canal (May 3rd – September). This section of roadway will be open to local traffic only.
  • Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.
