North Interceptor Sewer Project Update – February 6, 2020
The North Interceptor Sewer Line Project is a large diameter sewer transmission line that will provide additional capacity to the City’s existing sewer infrastructure, replace portions of existing sewer infrastructure in need of repair, and give the City the ability to decommission several regional pump stations on the north side of the City, which reduces future ongoing operational costs.
Phase 1 construction of the North Interceptor Sewer Line began in July at the Water Reclamation Facility and is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2020.
Upcoming Activities:
-
Crews will begin installing a 54” interceptor pipeline between the east side of the North Unit Irrigation District canal and Hughes Road.
-
Restoration of the North Unit Irrigation District canal will continue this month.
-
Masonry work, installation of the roof, and interior finish work will take place on the electrical building at the Water Reclamation Facility.
-
Construction of a new influent pump station at the Water Reclamation Facility continues to progress.
Please continue to drive carefully through the area and respect all construction signs and personnel.
