Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – October 3, 2022
SAFETY FIRST
Throughout the fall, we spend more time driving in the dark. Depth perception, color recognition, and peripheral vision can be compromised in the dark, and the glare of headlights from an oncoming vehicle can temporarily blind a driver. Please take extra precautions when driving in the dark.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – Modernization of 9th Street to 15th Street
October 3 through October 7
- Crews will place base rock and finish grading in preparation for paving.
- Wednesday, October 5: In preparation for nighttime paving on October 10 and 11, crews will place the first layer of asphalt pavement on the north side of Wilson Avenue. No traffic delays are expected on October 5.
- Landscape and irrigation work will continue.
Upcoming Traffic Impacts (Nighttime Paving – October 10 and 11)
- Access will be impacted on Monday, October 10, and Tuesday, October 11, for limited durations beginning at 7:00 PM (typically less than 20 minutes) to accommodate paving. The nighttime paving will have a lesser burden on businesses and the traveling public and expedite the completion of the project. Crews will pave at night through the evenings, with daytime work still taking place.
- Please be prepared for flaggers coordinating traffic control and up to 20-minute delays. EMS, garbage, mail, and other services will be maintained.
- Paving will be rescheduled if the weather prohibits activities.
