Council approves the Core Area Project Report and Next Steps for TIF

On Wednesday May 20, 2020, the Bend Urban Renewal Agency (BURA) unanimously approved a resolution to forward the Core Area Tax Increment Finance (TIF) Plan & Accompanying Report for formal public review. You can read the Issue Summary and a copy of the Resolution presented to BURA on the Agenda here (Item #5). Next steps for the TIF Plan includes a 45-day review and comment period for the affected taxing districts, a briefing with the County Commissioners, and a meeting with the Planning Commission to determine compliance with the Comprehensive Plan.  City Council will then review those comments and recommendations at a public hearing on August 5, 2020, prior to their consideration of an ordinance to adopt the TIF Plan.
