Weekly Road and Traffic Report for the Week of July 8 – July 14

For the Week of May 27 – June 2:

  • Street Preservation – Various Streets within the Northeast area of Bend will have a slurry seal. This is a maintenance treatment to prolong roadway longevity. Full street closures with limited local access only during its duration (expect delays). May 30 – June 6 (weather dependent). Learn more at the Street Preservation webpage.
  • American Lane between Brosterhous Road and Brentwood Avenue will have pavement restoration, single lane closure with flagging, May 30.
  • NE 18th Street between Sockeye Place and NE Montana Way will have a franchise utility installation, single lane closure with lane shifts, May 28.
  • Hunnel Road between NE Cooley Road and NW Robal Road for utility installations, single lane closure with flagging, May 28.
  • Knott Road between SE 15th Street and SE Ledger Lane for a power pole replacement, single lane closure with flagging, May 29.
  • Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 2 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
    • Saginaw Avenue: Local access only from College Way to West Hills Avenue.
    • Trenton Ave: Local access only from NW 12th Street and NW Juniper Street for sewer improvements.
    • Mt Washington and Shevlin Park Road roundabout: Partial Closure May 14 through June for roundabout reparation.
      • Phase 1 closure May 14 through May 28
        • Northbound Mt Washington closed south of roundabout.
      • Phase 2 Closure May 28 through June 4
        • Eastbound Shevlin Park Road closed east of roundabout.
        • Roundabout fully open – cannot exit eastbound Shevlin.

Ongoing Closures:

  • Silver Sage Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Began on May 6, 2024: Silver Sage Street, Benham Road between Murphy Road and Rae Road, Concho Street, Loy Lane, and the North-end of Tapadera Street will be closed with tentative plans for reopening in mid-October 2024.   • Pinehaven/Woodhaven Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals in order to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Full road closures with local access along the full length Pinehaven and Woodhaven Avenues. Project began March 11. For more information, visit the Pinehaven and Woodhaven Sewer Project webpage.
  • SW 18th Street between SW Simpson Avenue and SW Forest Ridge Avenue for infrastructure improvements, full road closure with detour, began March 25.
  • Bend North Corridor, ODOT Project – Infrastructure improvements along Highway 97 from Empire Avenue to Grandview Drive. Highway 97 will also be realigned to allow free flowing movement. Various types of traffic control will be implemented during construction. Expect additional delays throughout this segment of the corridor. Expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
    • Empire Avenue onramp northbound will be redirected toward the newly built Highway 97 and connected to the existing Highway 97 at Robal Road, began April 8.
  • Cooley Road between Highway 20 and Hunnel Road for infrastructure and roadway improvements, full road closure with detour, began Dec. 26.

Future Road Closures:

  • Parrell Road between Vassar Place and Rocca Way will have a sewer service installation, single lane closure with flagging, June 3 – 6, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

 

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
