Weekly Road and Traffic Report for the Week of September 30 – October 4
For the Week of September 30 – October 4:
- SE Third Street between SE McKinley Avenue and SE Cleveland Avenue for a waterline abandonment, left turn lane closure, Sept. 30, 7 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Portland Avenue between NW Ninth Street and NW College Way for tree trimming, single lane closure with flagging, Sept. 30 – Oct. 4, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ongoing Closures:
- Brosterhous Road between SE Third Street and Alstrup Road for infrastructure improvements, single lane closures with lane shifts, Sept. 24 – Oct. 22.
- SE Daly Estates Drive between SE Capella Place and SE Reed Market Road for a sewer main installation, full road closure with local access only, Sept. 9 – Oct. 18.
- SW Century Drive between SW Simpson Avenue and SW Colorado Avenue for a mini roundabout construction, full road closure with detour, Sept. 9 – Nov. 15.
- Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 2 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
- 12th Street: Full road closure Oct. 1 to Oct. 4. Traffic to detour using Summit Drive to College Way to Portland Avenue.
- Portland Avenue from Awbrey Street to Steidl Street: Single Lane closure under flaggers for franchise utility (GAS) work.
- Midtown Crossing Project (Second Street work) – A multiphase project that will replace the water main from Greenwood Avenue to Franklin Avenue in preparation for the full reconstruction occurring next spring. Phase 1 occurs from Aug. 15 – Oct. 15. Road closures with local access will occur in its entirety. Current road section work listed below. - Second Street between Greenwood Avenue and NE Hawthorne Avenue.
- NW Harriman Street between NW Kearney Avenue and NW Greenwood Avenue for infrastructure work associated with the Deschutes County Courthouse, full road closure, began July 24.
- NW Crossing Farmers Market – special event occurring every Saturday June 1 – Oct.12. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).
- NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
- NW John Freemont Street between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
- NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.
- Silver Sage Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Tentatively starting on May 6, 2024: Silver Sage Street, Benham Road between Murphy Road and Rae Road, Concho Street, Loy Lane and the North-end of Tapadera Street will be closed with tentative plans for reopening in mid-Oct. 2024. Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.
Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
