48-hour Closure of Greenwood Avenue Begins Aug 5
Midtown Crossings Project Update
Greenwood Avenue Quick-Build
CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY
48-HOUR FULL CLOSURE ON AUG 5 & 6
Construction Continues through Aug 14
For daily construction updates, check our website: bendoregon.gov/midtowncrossings
Greenwood Avenue, between Wall Street and Second Street, will be entirely closed to traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 5 at 7 a.m. and reopening Wednesday morning, Aug. 7 by 7 a.m.
To minimize delays, we strongly recommend using the detour route on Olney Ave. (see map below)
North-south through traffic and turns will be closed at Harriman, Hill, 1st and 2nd streets. To travel north-south in this corridor, utilize Bond and Wall streets.

This 48-hour closure of Greenwood is needed to perform chip sealing, a road treatment that extends the life of the road. The chip seal process requires time to set before a fog seal can be applied. This work is essential to ensure the long-term durability of the road surface.
Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained when possible. However, all street parking on Greenwood between Wall Street and Second Street will be closed. Sidewalks and bike lanes will also be impacted. Please plan your travel accordingly. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Additional Full Closure Night Work

- Full closures are planned overnight the following Monday and Tuesday, August 12 and 13.
See the full schedule at bendoregon.gov/midtowncrossings for a list of planned overnight and full closures.
Quick Build Construction Details
Work began on July 29 and continues through the morning of August 14.
To reduce impacts, construction will be completed at night when possible. Traffic control will change as construction progresses. Note dates are subject to change.
- Travel is reduced to one-lane in each direction.
- Expect traffic delays during this time of up to 15 minutes.
- Full road closures and detours are required from 8/5 to 8/7, and the nights of 8/12 and 8/13. Flaggers will be in place.
- Access to some side streets will be limited.
- East/west pedestrian travel (south side of street) will not be impacted, and the sidewalk through the undercrossing will remain open. Pedestrian travel across Greenwood may be delayed at times or require detours.
