Awbrey Waterline Improvements Project Update – May 24, 2024
Traffic Control Update – May 24
Crews are making steady progress on work east of the Mt Washington and Shevlin Park Road roundabout. Improvements in this project area are being constructed in three stages to minimize traffic impacts. See detour maps and stages below:
STAGE 1
The northbound lane of the Mt Washington and Shevlin Park Road roundabout is expected to re-open to traffic on May 28.
STAGE 2 CLOSURE BEGINS MAY 28
The Stage 2 closure is expected to begin May 28 (see Stage 2 detour map). During Stage 2, eastbound Shevlin Park Road remains closed east of the Mt Washington and Shevlin Park Road roundabout. The northbound lane of the Mt. Washington and Shevlin Park roundabout will re-open to traffic.
STAGE 3 BEGINS AS EARLY AS JUNE 3
The Stage 3 westbound lane closure east of the Mt Washington and Shevlin Park Road roundabout is estimated to begin as early as June 3. The closures and direction of detoured traffic on Shevlin Park Road will switch (see Stage 3 detour map). Note the Stage 2 eastbound closure will open to traffic before the Stage 3 westbound closure begins. Stage 3 is expected to continue through late June. The roundabout will be open to north, south and eastbound traffic during Stage 3.

Other Traffic Detours Associated with the Awbrey Waterline Project Include:
- Saginaw Avenue: Local access only from College Way to West Hills Avenue.
- Trenton Avenue: Local access only from NW 12th Street and NW Juniper Street for sewer improvements.
