Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – May 3, 2024

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: May 6 – May 10

STAGE 2 Improvements: Second Street to Fourth Street

  • Crews will continue subgrade work in preparation for final paving on Wilson Avenue.
  • Work continues on the traffic signal electrical wiring.
  • Crews will begin landscaping and installing irrigation systems.

PLEASE NOTE: Beginning Monday, May 13, crews will begin installing Dura-curbs and completing striping along Wilson Avenue between Third Street and Centennial Street to protect on-street bike lanes. As a result, parking will no longer be allowed along this section of Wilson Avenue.

TRAFFIC CHANGE IN EFFECT

Traffic light at Third Street and Wilson Avenue is converted to a temporary stop sign during construction.

The traffic signal at Third Street and Wilson Avenue has been temporarily replaced with a stop sign as part of the Wilson Avenue Corridor Project. For those traveling eastbound on Wilson Avenue at the Third Street intersection, the only option will be a right turn to go southbound on Third Street; there will be no left turn option to go northbound on Third Street. The removal of the signal places construction a month ahead of schedule, with completion expected in May.

The new traffic signal will enhance traffic flows and improve both driver and pedestrian safety.

The Wilson Avenue Corridor is a multi-phase modernization project that will improve safety and east-west connectivity for all users along Wilson Avenue from Second Street to 15th Street.

Waterline system upgrades are being constructed as part of the project to optimize synergy opportunities.

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
