Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – March 22, 2024

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: March 25 – March 29

STAGE 2 Improvements: Second Street to Fourth Street

• Stormwater installation work will continue on the southeast and southwest side of Wilson Avenue and Third Street. 
• Crews will continue excavating along Wilson Avenue, between Second and Third streets.
• Irrigation sleeves installation work will continue along Wilson Avenue between Second Street and Fifth Street.

TRAFFIC CHANGE IN EFFECT:

Traffic light at Third Street and Wilson Avenue converted to a temporary stop sign during construction

The traffic signal at Third Street and Wilson Avenue has been temporarily replaced with a stop sign as part of the Wilson Avenue Corridor Project. For those traveling eastbound on Wilson Avenue at the Third Street intersection, the only option will be a right turn to go southbound on Third Street; there will be no left turn option to go northbound on Third Street. The removal of the signal places construction a month ahead of schedule, with completion expected in May.  

The new traffic signal will enhance traffic flows and improve both driver and pedestrian safety.

The Wilson Avenue Corridor is a multi-phase modernization project that will improve safety and east-west connectivity for all users along Wilson Avenue from Second Street to 15th Street. 

Waterline system upgrades are being constructed as part of the project to optimize synergy opportunities.

• Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
• Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
• Daytime work hours are in effect from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
• There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
