CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES – October 21 – November 3
Asphalt paving activities will take priority during the coming weeks, weather permitting. Over the course of the project, approximately 16 million pounds of asphalt pavement will be placed in three separate layers, each approximately 2” to 3” thick. The asphalt delivered to the project arrives at approximately 300° Fahrenheit, and has to be placed in its final position and compacted prior to cooling in a matter of hours. On average, over 110-Tons of compaction effort is placed onto the pavement in this time. Please use caution around hot surfaces.
FUN FACT: Asphalt is 100% recyclable, and remains the most recycled material in North America. The custom designed asphalt pavement provided by the contractor on this project contains up to 20% recycled asphalt to do our part to help the environment.
