Ferguson Sewer Improvements Project Update – July 20, 2023
TENTATIVE UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Crews continue to excavate and install sewer pipe, maintenance holes, and sewer laterals to the east along Ferguson Road.
- The southbound Ladera Road at Ferguson Road is closed for the week of July 17 for sewer installation and is anticipated to be open early next week. Ferguson Road is closed to eastbound traffic from Ladera Road to the east of Magnolia Lane. Please continue to obey all traffic signs and drive with caution through the construction zone.
- Crews will be pouring concrete intermittently as part of the sidewalk and driveway restorations.
- The Ridgewater II pump station is now decommissioned, and gravity sewer is live along Ferguson from that point and to the west.
- The Camden Park pump station is now decommissioned, and the gravity sewer is live up to Cottonwood Drive.
- Those properties located along Ferguson between the Ridgewater II pump station and Cottonwood Drive that received a new sewer service with this project will receive a Notice of Operational Completion in the mail. This is the formal notice that sewer is legally available to the property.
- Additional Franchise Utility relocations are occurring just west of Cottonwood Dr. Traffic will be maintained in the westbound direction.
- For those along Ferguson currently served by septic and receiving a new sewer lateral with this project, visit www.bendoregon.gov/septictosewerprogram for more information on connecting to sewer after receiving the Notice of Operational Completion.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION
- Noise, dust, and vibrations will occur during construction.
- Please consider traffic delays and allow extra time when planning your commute. Please drive slowly through the construction work zone.
- Although we make every effort to maintain services during construction, you may experience a temporary outage due to an inadvertent occurrence. For example, if you experience an internet outage, please notify the project contact (provided below) directly so that the project team can ensure it’s being remedied.
- School bus stops along Ferguson Road will remain in place. Bus riders will have access to wait at the stop and load onto the bus. There will be a flagger on site to assist as needed.
- For those who receive garbage pick-up along Ferguson Road, please take your bins to the edge of your frontage on the day of or prior to your garbage pick-up. The contractor will wheel them to the edge of the work zone if they are inaccessible to the garbage service at the end of the work shift.
- For those who receive mail along Ferguson Road, the contractor will temporarily relocate your mailbox if it becomes inaccessible with construction. Mailboxes moved will be placed in their original location following construction.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
Starting early next week, Ferguson Road will be closed to eastbound traffic from east of Ladera Road to east of Magnolia Lane. Note that Sarah Drive will be closed; please access Sarah Drive through Ladera Road. The south intersection of Ladera Road and Ferguson Road will be temporarily closed for the week of July 17 and is anticipated to re-open early next week. Ferguson road traffic is now two-way between 15th Street and Ladera Road. The closure and detour maps are shown below.
Local access to side streets and driveways off Ferguson Road, which do not have a secondary access point, will be maintained during construction. ALL traffic within the bounds of the closure is flowing westbound. You may experience delays of up to 20 minutes when driving through the construction zone. Please reduce speeds and proceed with caution. We appreciate your ongoing patience.
