Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – August 18, 2023

Distraction-free driving is always important, but this is especially important when you’re driving in a construction zone, where it’s imperative that you’re on high alert.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Week of August 21 – August 25
Modernization work on Wilson Avenue from Fourth Street through Centennial Street is scheduled through the fall. Please be prepared for flaggers and a westbound detour between Fourth and Ninth Street.
STAGE ONE: Fourth Street through Centennial Street
- Road paving on the north side of Wilson Avenue is scheduled for Thursday, August 24, and Friday, August 25. At that time, NO STREET PARKING will be permitted between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Please avoid parking near the intersection of Wilson between SE 4th Street and SE Centennial Street between 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on August 24 and August 25. - Crews will finish pouring sidewalks and driveways on the north side of Wilson Avenue between SE Douglas Street and SE Centennial.
- Modernization work on Wilson Avenue from Fourth Street through Centennial Street is scheduled through the fall. Please be prepared for flaggers and a westbound detour between Fourth and Ninth Street.
Upcoming Paving: August 24-25
Road paving on the north side of Wilson Avenue (weather conditions permitting) is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 24, and Friday, August 25. At that time, NO STREET PARKING will be permitted from 6 AM to 7 PM. Thank you in advance.
WILSON AVENUE WESTBOUND DETOUR – beginning the week of May 15
Take Ninth Street south to Reed Market Road. Turn right on Reed Market Road. Turn right on Third Street and continue to Wilson Avenue.
Stage 1: May 15, 2023 – Fall 2023
Modernization of Fourth Street through Centennial Street
Improvements include:
- Crossing at Fifth Street with refuge island to help protect pedestrians
- Dura-curbs used for on-street bike lane protection
- Curb extensions to improve the visibility of pedestrians along Wilson Avenue
- Crosswalk lighting will be added at the Second Street and Fifth Street pedestrian crossings


GENERAL PROJECT NOTES
- Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
- Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
- Daytime work hours are in effect from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
