Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – June 23, 2023
SAFETY FIRST
With a number of construction improvements underway throughout the community, we would like to remind the public of important safety tips and regulations on construction zone safety, and also express our appreciation of the public’s patience as roadway and waterline improvements continue.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Week of June 26 – June 30
Modernization work on Wilson Avenue from Fourth Street through Centennial Street is scheduled through the fall. Please be prepared for flaggers and a westbound detour between Fourth and Ninth Street.
STAGE ONE: Fourth Street through Centennial Street
- Light pole bases will be installed along the north side of Wilson Avenue.
- Work will continue on the installation of the new waterline laterals along Edgewater Lane. (Please avoid parking on the east side of Edgewater Lane.)
- Crews will install drywells and manholes.
WILSON AVENUE WESTBOUND DETOUR – beginning the week of May 15
Take Ninth Street south to Reed Market Road. Turn right on Reed Market Road. Turn right on Third Street and continue to Wilson Avenue.
Stage 1: May 15, 2023 – Fall 2023
Modernization of Fourth Street through Centennial Street
Improvements include:
- Crossing at Fifth Street with refuge island to help protect pedestrians
- Dura-curbs used for on-street bike lane protection
- Curb extensions to improve the visibility of pedestrians along Wilson Avenue
- Crosswalk lighting will be added at the Second Street and Fifth Street pedestrian crossings

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES
- Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
- Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
- Daytime work hours are in effect from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
