Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – March 03, 2023

SAFETY FIRST

It’s important to follow the law and keep everyone safe, especially during construction projects. Unfortunately, we have noticed that some drivers are ignoring traffic control signs and driving in the wrong direction on Milwaukee Avenue. This has led to complaints from residents and near-miss incidents. Safety is our top priority, so we have notified the Bend Police, and they are ready to enforce the one-way eastbound local access route. We kindly ask all drivers to follow the marked detour routes and closure signage so that we can finish this project safely and efficiently. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
