Awbrey Butte Waterline Project Update – January 20, 2023
The Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvement Project will improve Bend’s ability to deliver water across the City and increase the system’s resiliency and reliability by installing approximately 4.25 miles of pipeline.
Project Update – January 2023
As part of the City of Bend’s design work for the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvement Project, crews will be evaluating the presence of underground utility lines. Utility potholing involves digging a series of non-intrusive, non-destructive test holes to gather locations, depths, and lengths of utilities.
Utility potholing will continue Monday – Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., until January 20, in the areas within Subprojects 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, as shown on the map below. Potholing for Subproject 2 will likely occur in February east of the Portland Avenue bridge; this work is anticipated to occur in the evening and will require additional efforts for the signalized intersection. Potholing for the subprojects identified in Phase 2 will happen later this year; separate notifications can be expected for those efforts.
The City is committed to keeping neighbors informed throughout the project through the project website, public informational meetings, mailings, emails, and door hangers. In advance of construction activities in your neighborhood, residents will receive a more detailed notification with specific information regarding construction impacts.
