Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – July 15, 2022
SAFETY FIRST
Beginning July 18 through August 1, there will be landscaping activity from 9th Street to 11th Street beginning at 6:00 AM. These activities will include hand tools and occasional crew pickup truck traffic. You may notice vehicular activity along other segments, but all work will be localized to the approved areas.
Beginning in 2022, the State of Oregon has implemented guidelines when the heat index exceeds 80º Fahrenheit. To protect crewmembers, you may notice an increase in break periods under tents or trees, additional water breaks, and in the event of a National Weather Service heat index warning, a shift in work hours to the cooler part of the day.
The safety of the public and our team members is our priority, and we appreciate your support in these efforts.
