Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – April 15, 2022
SAFETY FIRST
This week, the federal Department of Transportation held its annual Work Zone Awareness Week. This year’s theme is “Work Zones are a Sign to Slow Down.” Please pay attention when you travel through or near work zones, take note of reduced speed limits, changes in lane configurations, detours, closed streets, eliminate distractions, and be watchful for workers and their equipment located in or near the street. To learn more about the important role drivers have in work zone safety, go to National Work Zone Awareness Week – FHWA Work Zone (dot.gov).
Cascade Natural Gas will be performing work on Newport Avenue between Knoxville Boulevard and 14th Street over the upcoming weeks. Be prepared for flagging and lane shifts.
