Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – October 11, 2021

Thank you for your interest in the Murphy Corridor Improvements Project.

Notice: Crews may be working Saturdays on the BNSF bridge overcrossing and Murphy Road extension.

Upcoming Closure: A one-week full road closure is planned on Brosterhous Road to vehicle traffic at the railroad crossing between Murphy Road and Knott Road the week of October 18 or October 25 (exact date to be communicated in advance of closure). The project includes the installation of a shared-use path sidewalk for pedestrians and bikes under the railroad bridge that will connect to existing sidewalks to the north and south. Also included in the work is an extension of the sewer line within Brosterhous Road. To view a map and learn more visit bendoregon.gov/murphyproject.

Construction Activities – Week of October 11

  • Crews will tie in the watermain and install insulation under the BNSF bridge.
  • Work will continue on the curbs and sidewalks south of the Brosterhous Road roundabout.
  • Crews will pour concrete for the north BNSF bridge guardrail.
  • Finish work will continue on the east and west BNSF bridge abutments.
  • Subgrade and rock work will continue on the east side of the BNSF bridge.
