Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – July 9, 2021

SAFETY FIRST

Construction equipment is preparing the subgrade for paving; this means an increase in heavy equipment activity throughout Nashville Ave. Pedestrians need to follow the designated routes and avoid entering the job site at all costs. We have seen pedestrians entering the site and even walking behind heavy equipment as they are operating. The job site needs to be clear of all members of the public to maintain our safety protocols.

Due to continued predictions of excess heat, working hours shall continue to be from 5:00 AM-5:30 PM until further notice.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION KIOSK

Due to continued predictions of excess heat, the project kiosk had been placed on hold. Feel free to call or email with any questions regarding this project.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Nashville Ave is in its homestretch; new curbs will be formed over the upcoming weeks, and asphalt is planned to be laid at the end of the month. We are excited to announce that Nashville Ave will be open for traffic at the end of July 2021.
