Newport Corridor Improvements Project Update – June 03, 2021

SAFETY FIRST

As we move closer to the next phase of construction, there is expected to be ongoing preparation work done outside of the construction zone over the upcoming months. Crews will be confirming locations of underground utilities by “potholing” with Vactor (vacuum excavator) trucks. These crews will be establishing localized safety zones in the areas they are working. However, please continue to use caution when traveling down Newport Ave and the connecting side streets.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION KIOSK

On Tuesday, June 8, the City will continue its informational kiosk in front of Newport Market from noon to 1:30 PM. Over the past few weeks, we have had the opportunity to provide additional details of the upcoming changes to the Newport Ave corridor. Please stop by with any project-related questions you may have.
