Columbia Roundabout Improvements Project Update – June 2, 2021

SAFETY FIRST

Expect additional construction traffic in the area as crews remove the existing asphalt, do not follow these vehicles into the construction site. Follow all traffic control signs and do not enter through openings in the ‘road closed’ barricades. 

Emergency services may access the construction zone when an emergency response is needed. Avoid parking on the streets near the construction site.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Above: New concrete sidewalks have been poured and are curing for pedestrian use

Simpson Avenue/Columbia Street Scheduled Construction – Week of June 2-June 9

• Asphalt removal begins
• Preparations for forming the remaining sidewalks continue.
• Excavation for the storm system and new grading plan begins.

• Business Access will remain open on all legs of this project affected by the detour.
• Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
• There are multiple construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely.
